What’s your artist name and where are you from? “Str8Cash”, I’m an upcoming artist born and raised in Gallatin, TN.
Why do you love music?
I can remember being little, my grandmother would take me to church with her and I always wanted to go play the drums. I’ve loved music my whole life. That was my form of self expression, my pain and frustration came out in the music. I started rapping when I was around 13 or 14 years old.
What makes you different as a music artist?
Everything I rap about is from experience. I don’t rap about stuff that goes on in the streets to influence or glorify that path. I’m just giving it to them raw and uncut, you can either take this path or this path, but if you go this way this is the outcome. This is what comes with it. Ain’t no straddling the fence.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I know where I want to be but I just take it one day at a time. We already face a day to day struggle, never really knowing what tomorrow may bring. But I know my higher power will give me the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that I need to get through whatever obstacles come my way.
What do you want to accomplish in life?
I have to make sure my kids and my family are set, it’s mandatory. Be the best father I can be to them making sure they have access to things and opportunities I didn’t have. That will be my biggest accomplishment. They deserve it all.
What do you bring to the music world?
I bring Motivation, the real, A walking example that anything is possible in life. No matter where you come from or what you came from. Don’t let nothing get you down and keep you down. We gotta keep pushing, moving forward, and elevating.
What do you want to be remembered by?
I want to be remembered as being a humble, solid, stand up individual. With the heart of a lion. A role model the youth can look up to and learn from.
