Tell us about you:

My artist name is Sonnyguitarslim. I’m originally from Louisville, KY but I was raised in Huntingdon TN. I currently reside in Nashville, TN. My name is sonnyguitarslim. I’m originally from Louisville, KY. I was raised in Huntingdon. It’s a small town in western Tennessee. I currently reside in Nashville. A few of my notable influences are Coldplay, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Mac Miller, and Kid Cudi. I could honestly name several. I love music for several different reasons. It’s my own personal therapy. I’ve seen music save lives while performing music therapy at drug rehabs in and around Nashville. It has the power to change the world. Music is limitless. I’m not exactly big on the term artist. I’m a musician first. Playing my guitar is something ill do for the rest of my life. It’s a skill I worked extremely hard to obtain and nobody can take that from me. My music is as authentic as it gets. The majority of my beats come from music that is playing in my head. I simply grab my guitar and record it on my iPhone or laptop. I don’t use a metronome or expensive recording equipment. I think not using a metronome is the right space for me. It keeps my music raw. It’s the purest example of how music sounds deep down in my soul. I grab my guitar and record exactly what’s playing in my head. I take the less is more approach. I’m also a travel nurse. My dream has always been to nurse during the day and gig at night. In 5 years I see myself as an established artist traveling the world making it a better place. As far as life accomplishments go, I just want to make a difference rather it be thru music or something else. I think it’s extremely important we continue to make the world better for the next generation. I bring a unique and new sound. I’ve created a new lane. My music is genuine and raw as it gets. I’m a fan of all styles of music and I incorporate it all. I collab with artists from all different genres. If I’m jamming alone I may play jazz for a second then switch to rock then to hip-hop then metal. I want to be remembered as a genuine person first. I wanna be remembered as a pioneer and person who did things the right way. A person who truly understood how powerful music can be. My music will speak for itself.
