Yasmeen found solace in a vocal booth after a four-year relationship came to a bitter end. Yasmeen provides a honesty that is rare in today’s cool kid driven world. At 25 years old, being 100% honest in her music is the only thing that allows her to express her emotions freely and sets her apart from current artists.
Growing up between Detroit and Phoenix, Yasmeen’s strict Middle Eastern upbringing doesn’t make for your typical artist background. Having to hide modern relationships from her traditional family, gave her a passion to escape within her music.
Her latest single “Selfish” has been praised by Missinfo, Vibe Magazine, TIDAL, and Huffington Post. Grammy award-winning Ne-Yo, has proven to be a fan, posting Yasmeen’s “So Sick” cover on his Facebook page, which has garnered almost 500k views. Additionally, she was recently named IMTA New York’s Vocalist of the Year.
She has hit the stage all over the world including tours in London and Dubai, sharing the stage with some of today’s biggest stars including Miguel, Solange Knowles, Omarion and Jordin Sparks.
She is currently finalizing mixes on her debut LP “Selfish” to be released later this year. Each of the 11 songs are brimming in pain, loneliness, and desperation – a rarity in today’s Pop world. Yasmeen and her brand of heartbreak ballads are bringing back Classic Pop R&B music with big vocals and heartfelt production. Her monstrous voice will be the soundtrack to broken hearts for years to come.
